The CDC has updated its immunization schedules, shifting from recommending universal COVID-19 shots to encouraging individual decision-making. Toddlers will now receive the varicella vaccine as a standalone immunization. These changes, influenced by advisers appointed by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have drawn criticism from former CDC officials. “Informed consent is back,” Acting Director of the CDC and Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Jim O’Neill.
