Doordarshan, the national broadcaster, has announced that it will broadcast the morning prayers offered to the Ram Lalla idol at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya every day. This announcement brings joy to devotees of Lord Ram worldwide.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Doordarshan confirmed that the morning aarti offered to Ram Lalla will be telecast live on DD National every morning, starting at 6:30 AM.
The decision to telecast the morning aarti live daily was made to connect Lord Ram's devotees, especially after the temple's grand inauguration less than two months ago. Recognizing that not everyone can visit the temple in person, Doordarshan aims to bring the divine experience to their homes. The Aarti will also be broadcast simultaneously on DD’s YouTube channel.
This initiative was also prompted by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's current lack of logistical arrangements for live broadcasts. Doordarshan will deploy a small crew of two to three members to the temple premises to cover the daily ritual.
Doordarshan's 30-minute live broadcast of the Aarti each morning follows approval from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Initially, DD will air the “Mangala aarti” for a few months, after which the Ram Temple Trust will decide on the future course of action.
Six aartis are performed daily for Ram Lalla at the Ayodhya Ram Temple:
The temple trust has provided the following guidelines for devotees attending Aarti: "Entry for Mangala Aarti at 4 AM, Shringar Aarti at 6:15 AM, and Shayan Aarti at 10 PM is possible only with an entry pass. No entry passes required for other Aartis."
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra has issued an advisory for devotees planning to visit the temple: "Devotees can enter the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir for Darshan from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM. The entire process from entry to exit after Darshan at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir is extremely simple and convenient. Typically, devotees can have a smooth Darshan of Prabhu Shri Ram Lalla Sarkar within 60 to 75 minutes."
The temple trust advises devotees to leave their mobile phones, footwear, purses, and other personal items outside the Mandir premises for their convenience and to save time. Devotees are also requested not to bring flowers, garlands, or Prasad to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir.
