Smriti Mandhana celebrates her historic century.
This remarkable achievement occurred during the first T20I between India Women and England Women at Trent Bridge. Mandhana delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 112 runs off just 62 balls.
As captain, Mandhana led her team with a dominant display, hitting 15 fours and three impressive sixes. Her aggressive yet composed innings helped India reach a formidable total of 210/5 in 20 overs, marking their highest-ever T20I score against England.
This century was also Mandhana's first in T20Is, completing a rare feat that no other Indian woman batter had accomplished. She combined elegance and power, effectively neutralizing England’s key spinners, such as Sophie Ecclestone, with fearless strokeplay.
Valuable contributions also came from Harleen Deol (43 off 23) and Deepti Sharma (7 not out off 3), ensuring India maintained a strong run rate throughout the innings. Lauren Bell was the most successful of England’s bowlers, taking three wickets.
Mandhana's accomplishment places her among the elite cricketers globally, both male and female, who have scored centuries in all three formats. Her milestone is a defining moment for her career and for Indian women’s cricket, inspiring a new generation of cricketers to dream big and overcome challenges.
With this commanding performance, Mandhana has reaffirmed her position as a leading figure in Indian women’s cricket, known for her consistency, fearlessness, and record-breaking achievements.
