Rumors began swirling after Raducanu was seen supporting Alcaraz during his semi-final match at the HSBC Championships at Queen's Club. This prompted a reporter to directly address the speculation during the press conference.

Raducanu responded to the dating rumors with a simple, "We're just good friends." However, as the reporter attempted to move on, Raducanu added a playful quip, "Way to wrap up," drawing laughter from the room.

The two tennis stars have been practicing together, gearing up for their mixed doubles debut at the US Open. Raducanu expressed her excitement about the partnership. "It was fun yesterday. We were both on court with Evian, just getting some volley practice ahead of New York. I'm really happy to be playing with him. We had a great time," she said.

Raducanu also revealed that it was Alcaraz who initiated the mixed doubles pairing. "Yes, he asked me. He asked me earlier on in the year, and I was very surprised, honoured, and excited," she shared.

Raducanu, who famously won the 2021 US Open, has faced challenges in maintaining consistent performance since her victory. Her recent appearance at the Eastbourne Open concluded with a loss to Maya Joint before the quarter-finals.

Alcaraz, on the other hand, has continued his ascent in the tennis world following his 2022 US Open win, adding several significant titles to his impressive resume. He is now preparing to compete at Wimbledon 2025, where he will face Fabio Fognini of Italy in the first round.

The US Open will mark a new chapter for both Raducanu and Alcaraz as they join forces in mixed doubles, a highly anticipated partnership for tennis fans worldwide.
