In a stunning result, the Switzerland women's national team, preparing to host the UEFA Women's Euro 2025, suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat in a friendly match against the Under-15 boys' team of FC Luzern. The game, intended to be a closed-door affair, was played in three 30-minute periods.

The scoreline was leaked on social media when a Luzern youth player reportedly shared clips of the match on TikTok, according to Swiss news outlet Blick. The video, which reportedly featured Juventus star Alisha Lehmann and teammate Alayah Pilgrim, amassed over 70,000 views before being taken down. Lehmann is a prominent figure in women's soccer, with a substantial social media following.

This isn't the first instance of the Swiss team facing younger competition during their Euro preparations. They previously lost 2-1 to FC Solothurn's U-15 squad but secured a 2-1 victory against FC Biel's U-15s.

The Swiss Football Association has sought to downplay the significance of the result. Spokesperson Sven Micosse stated, "It's not uncommon in women's football to compete against junior teams. The goal is to bring a certain competitive element. The focus during this phase of preparation is on the physical aspect. Regardless of the result, these training matches are very similar to our international matches in terms of intensity and mileage."

Switzerland, having automatically qualified for Euro 2025 as the host nation, is scheduled to play Czechia in a formal friendly on Thursday. Their Euro 2025 campaign will commence against Norway on July 2.
