Rishabh Pant has surged to seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings after scoring centuries in both innings at Headingley. His scores of 134 and 118 made him only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Andy Flower, to achieve this feat. Pant is also the first Indian wicket-keeper batter to cross 800 rating points in Test history.

Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter, with Harry Brook close behind. Shubman Gill of India climbed five places to 20th after his century in the first innings.
