Once celebrated as the future of Indian cricket, Prithvi Shaw is now navigating a challenging phase in his career. However, this rapid success was accompanied by distractions. Shaw has acknowledged a lapse in focus, attributing it to negative influences, poor choices, and a decline in discipline, which gradually distanced him from the sport. He began neglecting rigorous practice sessions and prioritizing less important matters. Consequently, his career suffered setbacks, including being dropped from the Mumbai Ranji team and going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction.

During this period of uncertainty, Sachin Tendulkar, a legendary figure in cricket, provided unwavering support. Tendulkar, who had witnessed Shaw's development alongside his son Arjun, remained a steadfast presence when others wavered.

"Sachin Sir is familiar with my journey. Arjun and I have been friends since we were about 8 or 9 years old. We have played and grown up together. Sir was often present. I recently spoke with him about two months ago when he was practicing at the MIG, where I was also present. We had a conversation then," Shaw shared with News24.

Tendulkar's guidance served as a beacon of hope for Shaw. "When things go wrong and you stray from your path, you need a mentor who can reignite your passion," Shaw explained. "He continues to believe in me, stating, 'Prithvi, I still have faith in you, and I will continue to do so,' because he has witnessed my development. Even now, he advises me to 'Get back on track, like you were before.' Everything is achievable in the next 13-14 years. His belief in me is invaluable."

Now at 25, Shaw is determined to revitalize his career. He has left Mumbai cricket to join Maharashtra, seeking a fresh start. He openly acknowledges his past mistakes and is committed to working diligently to rebuild what he had previously lost.

Whether this marks the beginning of a complete comeback remains to be seen, but Shaw is confronting his errors head-on. With the support of legends like Sachin Tendulkar, he has a legitimate opportunity for redemption.
