Jayasuriya, who was wicketless in the first innings, made an immediate impact. He dismissed Litton Das for 14, with the batsman edging behind to wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis on the fifth ball of the morning. This key wicket triggered a rapid collapse, leading to a dominant victory for Sri Lanka before the lunch break.

Although Bangladesh briefly fought back by taking three quick wickets with the second new ball, Kusal Mendis stabilized the innings with an aggressive 84. He ensured that the home side remained in control.
